What I can help you with:
- Working out a plan so you are in control of your business and not the other way around.
- Working with you to develop a budget for your business and more importantly working with you so you actually use it in managing your business.
- Getting your processes in order and documented so you can start outsourcing or hiring staff.
- Understanding what cashflow is and how you need to manage.
- Pricing your product and working out if you can make a profit.
- Translating finance speak and the story the numbers are telling you about your business.
Who is this for?
- You are keen to tackle a specific problem in your business.
- You want to stop being afraid of the numbers and become their master
- You want to get control over your business and get it running like a charm.
- You are keen to learn and gain skills to run your business better.
- You will make the time to get the most benefit from our session.
Who this isn’t for:
- You just want to be handed a solution. I want you to learn skills so if the problem occurs again you have the skills and confidence to deal with it.
- You don’t have the time to work on this.
- You are looking for an ongoing accountant or bookkeeper.
- You are looking for tax advice – I am not a tax agent.
I worked with Caroline in the not-for-profit sector for a number of years where she helped me to embrace financial management and budgeting. Before I didn’t appreciate how important is to have a good understanding of your finances and how budgeting is such an important financial management tool. Caroline took the fear out numbers for me and helped me feel in control of my projects.
Trish McEwan, Project Manager
How does this work?
Step One
Send an email to me at caroline {at} theingredientsofbusiness.com with details of what you are looking for help with.
Step Two
I then give you a call or skype you and we have a more detailed chat about what you are looking for help with. This normally takes 20-30 minutes and is all about you working out if I am the right person to help you and me deciding if I can help you. It is very important to work out if we are a good fit. There won’t be any heavy sales push – if I am not the person to help you, I will tell you and will help you look for the right support through my networks.
Step Three
We arrange a time for a 90 minute session and I’ll email you some homework to do so you are prepared and can get the most out of our session. I’ll also send you a contract so that we make sure we are both on the same page. We may decide that more than one session is needed but you only need to commit to one at a time.
Step Four
We get together either by phone or skype and work through your problem. Depending on what you want to work on you will get tools and checklists to take away. My aim is to get you back in control of your business.
Step Five
I send you a follow up email with agreed actions and tools and templates as appropriate.
Step Six
If we agree more sessions are required, we book them in. Regardless, I will get in contact to check how you are going and to see if you have any questions. I want you to succeed as much as you do.
Step Seven
Get working on making a kick-ass food business.

Frequently asked questions:
How much does it cost?
Our initial 20 minute chat is free – so what have you got to lose!
After that each 90 minute session is $147. If you decide that you want to do two or more sessions, then a discount rate is available if paid up front.
Do you only work with food businesses?
While I specialize in food businesses, much of it translates to other businesses. Send me an email and I can let you know if I think I can help or who may be a better fit.
Do you work face to face with people?
I mainly work with people via skype or telephone. But if you are in Canberra, I would love to catch up over a coffee.
I haven’t yet started my food business and don’t know where to begin. Is this for me?
I am more than happy to help you with the business planning and finance side of things. I am working on a course that will cover all the business aspects of setting up a food business rather than just the planning and finance side of things. If you are interested in this, sign up below.
